ASP.NET 設定檔可用來儲存和擷取資料來源中的使用者設定，例如資料庫。使用者設定檔是使用 Profile 目前 HttpContext 的屬性來存取。設定檔資訊和屬性值是使用設定檔提供者來管理。

設定檔提供者可用來儲存和擷取使用者設定檔中的屬性。 .NET Framework包含類別 SqlProfileProvider ，會將使用者設定檔屬性儲存在SQL Server資料庫中。名為 SqlProfileProviderAspNetSqlProvider 的實例會在電腦群組態中指定為預設設定檔提供者。 AspNetSqlProvider實例會連線到本機 Web 服務器上的SQL Server資料庫。您可以使用提供者組態專案和 defaultProvider 設定檔群組態專案的屬性，指定 SqlProfileProvider 連接到另一個SQL Server做為預設設定檔提供者的，如下列範例所示。
