I can’t save credentials for Remote Desktop. I was using streamdeck to automatically sign me in to two different rdp. Now it’s not working. I don’t want to change registry because that could cause other issues since I am not trained in this type of stuff . So what do I do? Switch to a different rdp provider? Or will windows be fixing this soon? I’m on win11 pro latest release .

I would like to emphasize once again, that these new changes:

Starting with Windows 11 Enterprise 22H2, compatible systems have Windows Defender Credential Guard turned on by default...

made the "Save the credentials" option in Remote Desktop very misleading and literally useless.
Either do not offer it or at least show some kind of warning or info message with plain instructions etc.

It is really frustrating for users to try to save their credentials and not to achieve the expected result.

    Hi,

    I went to:

    > Windows Security
    > Device Security
    > Core Isolation Details
    > Turn Memory Integrity from ON to OFF

    >Restart the laptop

RDP is remembering my credentials again without any additional registry changes.

** This is NOT a permanent fix by no means. I still hope to get a new fix from Microsoft on allowing remote access gracefully without violating policies.

Ive just hit this issue and found a very simple solution that worked for our environment. I tried all solutions here and nothing seemed to work.

Delete the credentials then recreate them manually omitting the TERMSRV/ in the internet or network address option. You will then notice it changes the Persistence to Enterprise over Local computer.

I can now click on the icon and get straight in without being prompted for a password. The strange thing is I have a connection to a different domain that worked fine. Currently using Windows 11 22H2

    Hope this helps.
