I am also using i5-7200U. This bad that Microsoft is not supporting these processors. They need to start supporting these processors. Or at least they need to explain why they are not supporting these processors.

End users can install Windows 11 on most computers.

The installation can be in the supported or unsupported fashion.

The supported fashion is using the Windows update agent.

It will check for minimum parameters for a supported upgrade.

If there are findings that are unsupported the upgrade is designed fail.

The unsupported fashion can be accomplished by two methods.

    a) Multiple websites have reported modifying the registry and files so that the Windows update agent does not find the unsupported parameters.

    b) The alternative is performing a clean install of Windows 11.

Each end user must assess the risks and benefits.

Multiple websites have reported the successful clean installation of Windows 11 on very old computers.

These included desktops, laptops, and tablets.

When Windows 11 is in use on a computer that did not meet the supported requirements the computer may not benefit from the improved performance and security available with supported upgrades.

And the unsupported installations may have problems with Windows updates and Microsoft Defender updates.

Just a general comment. My laptop has an unsupported i7-6500u. I've been a windows user for forever. It's pathetic that Microsoft would selectively eliminate whole classes of computers from getting Windows 11 and cajole people to get rid of perfectly usable ones. I'm sure there are many out there that would even pay a nominal fee for the upgrade.

Hopefully they'll expand the list of compliant processors.

Unfortunately, i5-7200U processor is not compatible for Windows 11, according to Microsoft.

Check with official Windows 11 list of supported processors: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/design/minimum/supported/windows-11-supported-intel-processors

I have a similar problem only for the Intel Core i7-7700 CPU @ 3.60Ghz. The processor is listed on the support hardware list.
