View. On Item Inserting(FormViewInsertEventArgs) Method
Raises the ItemInserting event.
protected: virtual void OnItemInserting(System::Web::UI::WebControls::FormViewInsertEventArgs ^ e);
protected virtual void OnItemInserting (System.Web.UI.WebControls.FormViewInsertEventArgs e);
abstract member OnItemInserting : System.Web.UI.WebControls.FormViewInsertEventArgs -> unit override this.OnItemInserting : System.Web.UI.WebControls.FormViewInsertEventArgs -> unit
Protected Overridable Sub OnItemInserting (e As FormViewInsertEventArgs)
This method is called when the FormView control is not bound to a data source control, the user did not cancel the insert operation, and an event handler is not registered for the event.
Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Handling and Raising Events.
The OnItemInserting method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.
Notes to Inheritors
When overriding OnItemInserting(FormViewInsertEventArgs) in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnItemInserting(FormViewInsertEventArgs) method so that registered delegates receive the event.
