Exercise - Create a new fiscal year

This exercise is written to use the Cronus sample company from the US version of Business Central. You might need to make adjustments to the steps if you use the sample company from your country or region.

Scenario

As the controller at CRONUS, you must create a new fiscal year for 2022. Quickly create the new year by using the following information:

  • The fiscal year begins on January 1, 2022 and ends on December 31, 2022.

  • The length of an accounting period is one month.

Task

Create the new fiscal year.

Steps

  1. Select the Search for Page icon in the top-right corner of the page, enter accounting periods, and then select the related link.

  2. Select Process > Create Year.

  3. In the Starting Date field, enter 01/01/2022.

  4. In the No. of Periods field, enter 12.

  5. In the Period Length field, enter 1M.

  6. Select OK.
