Exercise - Create a warehouse for a Commerce channel

In this exercise, you will create all warehouse components that are required for a Commerce channel.

  1. In the USRT company, go to Retail and Commerce > Channel setup > Sites.
  2. Select New.
  3. In the Site field, enter SOUTH.
  4. In the Name field, enter South for stores in USRT.
  5. In the Time zone field, select the (GMT-06:00) Central Time (US & Canada) option.
  6. Select Save.
  7. Go to Retail and Commerce > Channel setup > Warehouses.
  8. Select New.
  9. In the Warehouse field, enter DALLAS.
  10. In the Name field, enter Dallas inventory location.
  11. In the Site field, set the value to SOUTH.
  12. In the Store field in the Retail group, set the value to Yes.
  13. In the Weight field in the Retail group, set the value to 1.00.
  14. In the Physical negative inventory field in the Warehouse group, set the value to Yes.
  15. In the Addresses group, select Add to add a new address.
  16. In the Name or description field, set the value to Dallas Primary.
  17. In the Country/region field, enter USA.
  18. In the ZIP/postal code field, enter 75202. The City, State, and Country/region fields are auto populated.
  19. In the Street field, set the value to 123 Anywhere Place.
  20. In the Primary field, set the value to Yes.
  21. Select OK.
  22. Select Save.
  23. Go to Retail and Commerce > Channel setup > Location setup > Inventory aisles.
  24. Select New.
  25. In the Warehouse field, select DALLAS.
  26. In the Aisle field, enter Def.
  27. In the Name field, enter Default aisle.
  28. Select Inventory locations in the Action Pane.
  29. Select New.
  30. In the Manual update field, set the value to Yes.
  31. In the Location field, set the value to DALLAS.
  32. Select Save. The required Destination location field has defaulted to the Location value that was entered.
  33. Select New. The Warehouse and Aisle fields have defaulted automatically.
  34. In the Manual update field, set the value to Yes.
  35. In the Location field, set the value to Damaged.
  36. Select Save.
  37. Select New.
  38. In the Manual update field, set the value to Yes.
  39. In the Location field, set the value to Returns.
  40. Select Save.
  41. Go to Retail and Commerce > Channel setup > Warehouses.
  42. In the list, select DALLAS.
  43. Select the DALLAS value in the Warehouse field to enter the detail view for that record.
  44. In the Action Pane, select Warehouse.
  45. In the Default receipt location field in the Inventory and warehouse management group, set the value to DALLAS.
  46. In the Default issue location field in the Inventory and warehouse management group, set the value to DALLAS.
  47. In the Default return location field in the Retail group, set the value to Returns.
  48. In the Default location field in the Retail group, set the value to DALLAS.
