Use Buncee and Microsoft Tools to support creativity & SEL

Completed

Both Buncee and Microsoft Education tools offer a wide variety of ways to incorporate creative expression and SEL skills in your school, classroom, or library. Buncee is a multimedia creation tool for students, educators, administrators, and families to make interactive content, allowing those of all ages to visualize concepts and communicate creatively. Buncee comes with thousands of animations, stickers, emotion-based graphics call "emojis," built-in audio and video recording capabilities, and more allowing students to express themselves and demonstrate their learning.

Buncee is a Microsoft for Education Partner integrating Immersive Reader, OneNote, and Microsoft Teams. Mike Tholfsen, Principal Product Manager at Microsoft Education, explains these integrations in this video.

Immersive Reader’s reading accessibility tools can make for a more inclusive, positive learning environment. A positive learning environment is one key component in allowing students to feel open to building SEL skills. This video from the Young Women’s Leadership School of Astoria in New York City describes how Immersive Reader and Buncee helped create a more inclusive and positive school culture.

To get started using Buncee’s multimedia tools to conduct the Get creative! Project ideas in the following modules and empower your students’ creativity, you and your students can head to Buncee.com and sign in with a Microsoft account. If your students don't have Microsoft accounts, you can create usernames and passwords. Here's more information on creating classes and student accounts.

Here are some additional resources to explore as you get started:

Document Your Learning: As you go through the course, take note of different approaches that come to mind for incorporating SEL and creative expression at your school. Keep a digital journal of these ideas somewhere you can access throughout the year, such as in a Buncee embedded in OneNote or pinned as a tab on Microsoft Teams to share with colleagues.
