Introduction
You've prepared your environment by setting up Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), integrating it with Microsoft Entra ID, creating Azure resources needed to deploy Azure Virtual Desktop, and assigning licenses and administrator roles to users. Now you're ready to deploy Azure Virtual Desktop.
Suppose you want to allow some of your employees access to virtual desktops that your organization manages. Others in your organization just need access to an application. This application could be a line-of-business application that runs on a legacy operating system, or one that requires tight security and compliance.

- Deploy a customized workspace with a virtual desktop and remote app
Prerequisites
- An Azure account with an active subscription
- Familiarity with server and client management concepts and tools
- Familiarity with Windows virtualization technologies, like Remote Desktop Services
- (Optional) Access to an Azure environment prepared for Azure Virtual Desktop: Microsoft Entra ID configured and integrated with AD DS, and an Azure Virtual Network that's connected to your domain
- (Optional) User credentials for three user accounts in Microsoft Entra ID: a user account that's assigned to the AD DS administrator role and two non-administrative user accounts
