Exercise - Create a marketing form and marketing page

To put your Dynamics 365 Customer Insights - Journeys knowledge into action, we have provided you with a scenario to help you create a marketing form and a marketing page in Customer Insights - Journeys. The two parts to this scenario are creating the marketing form and then creating a marketing page and embedding the form on the page.

At the end of these exercises, you'll be able to perform the following tasks:

  • Create a marketing form.

  • Create a marketing page.

Exercise - Create a marketing form

Your company wants to entice current and potential customers into signing up to learn more about your company. To complete this task, start by creating a form in which customers will submit their information. Next, create a marketing page to provide additional information about your company and then host the form.

  1. Sign into Dynamics 365 Customer Insights - Journeys.

  2. Go to Outbound marketing > Internet marketing > Marketing forms.

  3. Select + New from the command bar.

  4. From the template gallery, select chania.

  5. In the header section of the form, enter the following information:

    • Name - Learn More Form

    • Form type - Landing page

    • Update contacts/leads field - Set to update contacts and leads

  6. Enter the following information on the Summary tab:

    • Prefill fields - Set to Yes.
  7. Save your changes.

  8. Design the form.

    • Navigate back to the Designer. Replace [Form heading] with Sign up to learn more.

    • Change the font size to 18, center align, and change the font to Segoe UI.

    • From the Toolbox, search for the field How did you hear about us? Drag it onto the Designer area, and then drop it below the Email field.

    • Highlight the How did you hear about us? text and change the font to Segoe UI.

    • Highlight the First Name text and change the font to Segoe UI.

    • While the First Name text is still highlighted, change the Prefill check box to On from the Properties tab.

    • Highlight the Last Name text and change the font to Segoe UI.

    • While the Last Name text is still highlighted, change the Prefill check box to On from the Properties tab.

    • Highlight the Email text and change the font to Segoe UI.

    • While the Email text is still highlighted, change the Prefill check box to On from the Properties tab.

    • Highlight the Remember Me text and change the font to Segoe UI.

    • Drag the field below the How did you hear about us? phrase.

  9. Preview the form.

  10. Save and Check for errors. Correct any errors, if necessary.

  11. Select Go live.

Exercise - Create a marketing page

  1. Go to Outbound marketing > Internet marketing > Marketing pages.

  2. Select + New from the command bar.

  3. From the template gallery, select product page 2.

  4. In the header section, enter the following information:

    • Name - Learn More Page

    • Page type - Landing page

    • Partial URL field - learnmore

  5. Save your changes.

  6. Add a logo.

    • Remove the Fabrikam text box.

    • From the Toolbox, drag an image block where the Fabrikam text box was. Select the image block and upload a sample image for the logo.

    • To upload an image: Select an image block on the designer. Select the Image gallery icon. Select + Upload. Drag a file onto the Upload files dialog box. Select Upload. When the image is done uploading, select Close. Select the image and then Select.

    • When the image appears, go to the Properties tab and update the following information:

      • Alt text - company logo

      • Link - link a URL of your choice

      • Height - 80

      • Width - Auto

  7. Update the navigation buttons.

    • Highlight About us. In the pop-up toolbox, select the Link icon (or type CTRL+L). Change the Link to another URL link of your choice.

    • Highlight Our product. Change the text to Products. Change the Link to another URL link of your choice.

  8. Add a form to the page.

    • Select the form element. In the Properties section, select the form that you created in the previous step. (If you do not see your form, it might be that it is not live. Save your changes to the page, return to the form, make sure it is live, and then return to the page).

    • While the form is selected, the Properties tab will display a Submission behavior section. A confirmation message and error message are prefilled for you.

    • Add a redirect URL.

  9. Update the content of the page.

    • Change [Main title] to something descriptive about your company or the page. Adjust the font size and color as needed to match the hero image that you selected.

    • Update any remaining elements as desired.

    • Remove unwanted elements.

  10. Save your changes.

  11. Preview the form. Return to the Designer tab and make any additional updates if needed.

  12. Save and Check for errors. Correct any errors if needed.

  13. Select Go live. In the pop-up window, select OK.

  14. Submit the form on the marketing page and review the insights.

  15. Go to the Summary tab of the marketing page that you created in the previous step. Open the Full page URL to view your page.

  16. Fill out the form. After you submit, ensure that your confirmation message appears and that your redirect URL works.

  17. Go back your marketing page in Dynamics 365.

  18. Go to the Insights tab. The Overview shows general stats about your marketing page. The options on the left show more insights such as submissions and visits. Select Submissions, where you can view the details about the form that you submitted. You might need to select Refresh in the command bar if you don't immediately see the submission.
