Before you can post inbound transactions, such as purchase receipts and production output, you might need to assign serial numbers and/or lot numbers.
You can set up item tracking lines for inbound documents in various ways. For example, you can use number series to create new serial or lot numbers, but you can also create customized serial numbers. These options are explored in this module.
