Exercise - Sell an item with lot numbers
This exercise uses the CRONUS sample company from the US version of Business Central. You might need to adjust the steps if you use the sample company from your country or region.
Scenario
On April 10, 2020, you receive an order from customer 10000 for 100 cans of black paint. Because the paint is available, you ship the order from location MAIN on the same day. You have been instructed to ship the items according to the FEFO (First-Expired, First-Out) method.
Tasks
Create the sales order and ship the items.
Steps
Select the Search for page icon in the upper-right corner of the page, enter sales orders, and then select the related link.
Select New.
In the Customer Name field, select 10000.
In the Posting Date and the Order Date fields, enter 04/10/2020.
On the Lines FastTab, enter a line for the black paint.
In the Location Code field, select MAIN.
In the Quantity field, enter 100.
Select Line > Related Information > Item Tracking Lines.
Select Process > Select Entries.
Select OK.
Close the Item Tracking Lines page.
Select Posting > Post > Ship.
Select OK.
