Summary
For each outbound transaction that you post for an item with an item tracking code that is set up to track outbound transactions, you need to assign serial numbers or lot numbers. Business Central can suggest the serial numbers or lot numbers to ship to the customer or to consume for production or assembly. When expiration dates are used, the program automatically applies the First-Expired, First-Out (FEFO) principle.
