In Business Central, you can monitor if your assets are overinsured or underinsured. You can set up insurance policies and insurance journals to link assets to an insurance policy. Make sure that you create an insurance card for each insurance policy that is related to fixed assets.
Business Central provides two ways for you to link an asset to an insurance policy. When you post the asset acquisition cost, you can enter the Insurance No. field on the purchase line or journal line. You can also enter and post a line directly in the insurance journal.
