Set up production dimensions
Product dimensions allow you to define color, size, and configuration values for the product. You would define product dimension requirements for the product master and define storage and tracking dimension requirements for the released products. Go to Product information management > Setup > Dimension and variant groups > Product dimension groups to view the Product dimensions page.
Product dimensions are characteristics that identify a product variant. You can use combinations of product dimensions to define product variants. Define at least one product dimension for a product master to create a product variant. Product variants are the Supply Chain Management version of an item dimension combination, or unique combinations of color, size, and configuration.
The Product dimension group defines whether each product dimension is active or not, and whether the system should use them in the price search for trade agreements or not. The system assigns the product dimension group when you create a product master; you can't reassign it thereafter.
