Copy routes

Completed

If you want to use the functions that the system can perform relative to the route, select the Functions button on the Route number page. The options include Copy and Route updating.

You can select a BOM or route in base data or production and then make a copy of it. Additionally, you can define where you want to place the copy. You can also specify whether you want the copy to be added to the new location or to replace existing lines in the new location.

The following conditions apply when multisite functionality is active:

  • When you copy an existing BOM to a different site, the warehouse on the BOM lines is cleared. However, if the site that you copy from and the site that you copy to are the same, the warehouse isn't cleared.

  • When you copy an existing route to a different site, the resource on the route lines is cleared and the default resources for the route relations are also cleared.

  • When all options are selected on this page, select OK to begin the copying process.

The system runs updates automatically whenever a route is abandoned after being edited in one of the two routing forms or on a specific item.

If the Link type field is set to Soft, a time lapse might occur between operation numbers. During scheduling of a production order, the system is allowed to schedule the next operation later than the end time of the relevant operation.

If the Link type field is set to Hard, no time lapse between operations is allowed. During scheduling of a production order, the system needs to make sure that the start time for the subsequent operation equals the end time for the current operation. The only way to have a lapse between operations when you're using the link type of Hard is if the system uses queue or transport time for the relevant operation
