Create a production unit

The following demonstration shows how to create production units, production groups, and production pools.

Create a production unit

To create a production unit, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Production control > Setup > Production > Production units.

  2. Select New on the toolbar or press CTRL+N to create a new entry.

  3. In the Production unit field, enter a unique identifier for the production unit, and in the Name field, enter a description.

  4. In the Site field, select the site at which the production unit operates.

  5. Select the General FastTab.

  6. In the Input warehouse field, select a warehouse to assign a picking warehouse to the production unit. The list displays the warehouses that are assigned to the same site as the production unit.

  7. In the Output warehouse field, select a warehouse to assign a storage warehouse to the production unit. The list displays the warehouses that are assigned to the same site as the production unit.

  8. Save the record.

Assign a resource group to a production unit

To assign a resource group to a production unit, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Organization administration >  Resources > Resource groups.

  2. Select New.

  3. Enter the name of the resource group and its description.

  4. In the Site field, select a site.

  5. On the General FastTab, in the Production unit field, select a production unit. The dropdown list displays the production units that are associated with the site that you selected in the previous step.

  6. Save the record.

Create a production group

To create a production group, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Production control > Setup > Production > Production groups.

  2. On the Overview tab, in the Production group field, enter an identifier for the production group.

  3. In the Name field, enter the name of the production group.

  4. Select the Ledger - items tab. In the Items in process and Costing field groups, select the ledger accounts to use for posting material consumption.

  5. Select the Ledger - resources tab. In the Work in process and Costing field groups, select the ledger accounts to use for posting material consumption.

Create production pools

To create production pools, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Production control > Setup > Production > Production pools.

  2. Select New or press CTRL+N to create a new line.

  3. In the Pool field, enter an identifier for the production pool.

  4. In the Name field, enter a descriptive name for the production pool.
