Constructing Snap-insĀ

The topics in this section show how to use the information developed in the previous section to design an MMC 3.0-managed snap-in. Most of the information needed to build a consistent and effective snap-in is completely covered in this document.

The first topic, Mapping Feature Functionality to the User Experience, examines the tree pane and then provides guidance on deciding whether the feature functionality should be placed into a single snap-in or should be split into multiple snap-ins. The following topics get into the detailed guidance on the navigation, results, and Actions panes of the MMC Console.

Guidelines highlighted in this section can also be found in the Checklist of Architecting Guidelines.
