This method requests up-to-date data about weather conditions in the local area from the MSN Direct receiver. Weather conditions include temperature, wind direction, and pressure trend.
Syntax
int GetWeather();
Parameters
None.
Return Value
Returns the transaction ID of the request that is sent to the MSN Direct receiver; returns -1 if the request fails.
Remarks
The GetWeather method uses RequestSync to perform the transaction, with LOCAL_WEATHER specified as the applicationType parameter.
The local weather messages are returned asynchronously in the messageFromReceiver parameter of the ProcessInMessageFromReceiver call. The WeatherMsg object in the sample application illustrates how to parse this type of message.
Warning
The functions in the sample message classes handle data that arrives in a specific format in the payload of an incoming message. If you modify the way in which data is extracted from incoming messages, the message classes will not work as expected.
