DBR701::GetNonLocalWeather

Windows CE 5.0 Not SupportedWindows Embedded NavReady 2009 Supported

10/16/2008

This method requests up-to-date data about weather conditions in major cities across the country/region.

Syntax

int GetNonLocalWeather();

Parameters

None.

Return Value

Returns the transaction ID of the request that is sent to the MSN Direct receiver; returns -1 if the request fails.

Remarks

The GetNonLocalWeather method uses RequestSync to perform the transaction, with NON_LOCAL_WEATHER specified in the applicationType parameter.

The non-local weather messages are returned asynchronously in the messageFromReceiver parameter of the ProcessInMessageFromReceiver call. The NonLocalWeatherMsg object in the sample application illustrates how to parse this type of message.

Warning

The functions in the sample message classes handle data that arrives in a specific format in the payload of an incoming message. If you modify the way in which data is extracted from incoming messages, the message classes will not work as expected.
