This section provides overview information, guidance, and examples for creating and managing Bluetooth® pairing relationships.

A Bluetooth pairing relationship is created when one device creates a Bluetooth link to another device. Bluetooth pairing relationships in Windows Embedded CE can be initiated either by the Windows Embedded CE powered device or by another Bluetooth-enabled device belonging to the user.

A Bluetooth pairing relationship is a requirement for activating a device for use with a Bluetooth-orientated application, such as a phone application that uses the Hands-Free Profile (HFP), or an Internet application that uses the Dial-up Networking (DUN) profile.
