Windows Embedded Compact 7 – RDP RemoteFX Update adds software improvements and product functionality updates to your installation of Windows Embedded Compact 7.

You can install this software update either from the Microsoft Download Center or by using Windows Embedded Developer Update in Platform Builder for Windows Embedded Compact 7. Windows Embedded Compact 7 – RDP RemoteFX Update includes the following product functionality update.

  • RemoteFX (SYSGEN_RDP_REMOTEFX) is installed in the Windows Embedded Compact 7 – RDP RemoteFX Update. RemoteFX supports improved graphics rendering for functionality such as full-screen video and Windows Aero Glass effects that are delivered through Remote Desktop Connection. For more information, see Getting Started with RemoteFX in Windows Embedded Compact 7, on the web or in %Program Files%\Windows Embedded Compact 7\Documentation.
    By default, RemoteFX in Compact 7 is supported on devices that use x86 microprocessors that support the SSE2 instruction set. To support RemoteFX on other microprocessors, you must provide a RemoteFX display driver.
