Eckmann font family

The earliest renderings of this design, which pops up every 10 or 20 years, seem to originate from a type foundry in Offenbach, Germany, outside Frankfurt, where the dogs appear to have also originated. The shapes (of both the type and the sausages) are unmistakable, but the type is still legible. Many other display types are not legible, sacrificing legibility for the sake of noticeability. This design is both legible and distinctive.
