Deploy the financial services data models

Various data models are available as part of the Microsoft Cloud for Financial Services solutions. Each data model is a standalone option for partners and Microsoft Dataverse customers. This article shows how to deploy a data model for other financial services solutions.

Prerequisites

  • You must be a Microsoft Power Platform admin or a tenant admin to deploy the data model.

  • You must have licenses for Dataverse. If you're missing any licenses, you'll be notified during the deployment process. For more information, go to Licensing.

  • Learn about Compliance in Microsoft Cloud for Financial Services and ensure you use services that match your requirements.

Step 1. Prepare environment

If you don't have a Dataverse environment with a database, you'll need to create one. You can create a Dataverse environment while deploying a financial services solution. However, we recommend that you create the Dataverse environment before installing a solution so you can install the prerequisite Dynamics 365 apps and solutions.

  1. Sign in to Power Platform admin center.

  2. Create a Dataverse environment with a database. For more information, go to Create an environment with a database.

Step 2. Deploy the data model

To deploy the data model, use the Microsoft Cloud Solution Center.

  1. Sign in to Microsoft Cloud Solution Center.

    • From the Microsoft 365 admin center, select the Financial Services collection under setup, and then select Enable financial services solutions powered by Dynamics 365.
  2. On the Home page, select the Microsoft Cloud for Financial Services tile to get started with a particular data model deployment, or you can select Solutions > Financial Services in the left pane.

  3. On the Solutions page, scroll to the bottom to see the Financial services components section.

  4. Select Quick view to learn more about the data model component and its dependencies.

  5. Select Add.

  6. After selecting the data model, select Get Solutions.

  7. The Select destination page allows you to select the destination environment for deployment or create an environment.

    • If you've already created an environment, select it from the list.

    • Otherwise, select Create new to create an environment using the Power Platform admin center, and then come back to the Solution Center to select it. For more information, go to Create an environment in the Power Platform admin center.

  8. Agree to the terms of service, and then select Next.

  9. The Configure dependencies page guides you through installing and configuring dependencies.

    Note

The dependencies list will vary depending on the solutions you selected to deploy.

  10. Select Install or Configure for a dependency to view the documentation on how to set it up. Make sure you install the dependency in the same environment that you're deploying to.

  11. After you complete the dependency setup, return to the Microsoft Cloud Solution Center and select Recheck dependencies to refresh the Configure dependencies page.

  12. You now have the options to include sample content.

  13. After all the dependent apps have been installed and configured, and you've selected any additional components, select Deploy to continue.

The solution deployment starts and will continue to run in the background. Depending on the solutions you have selected to install, it might take a while for them to be deployed in your environment. You'll receive a notification through email when the deployment completes successfully.

  1. After the deployment completes, links will be available in the Microsoft Cloud Solution Center to launch your solution. There might be some extra steps to finish configuring your solution. Select View documentation to learn more about post-deployment configuration or explore our ecosystem for other financial services applications.

For information about post-deployment configuration for each solution, go to Post-deployment configuration.

Step 3. Build your own app or solution

For more information about building your own app or solutions, go to Overview of creating apps in Power Apps.

Step 4. Extend the data models (optional)

You can add new fields to tables in the data models that are the foundation of Microsoft Cloud for Financial Services:

To add fields to tables in your solutions:

  1. Open a solution.

  2. Add (inherit) tables from any or all the specified data models.

  3. Enhance tables by adding new columns (such as Lookups, Choices, Text, and other types).
