Il FormView controllo esegue il rendering di un modello diverso per la riga di dati in base alla modalità corrente del controllo (specificata dalla CurrentMode proprietà). Nella tabella seguente viene illustrato quale modello viene usato per ogni modalità.

Usare la EditItemTemplate proprietà per definire la propria interfaccia utente per la riga di dati quando il FormView controllo è in modalità di modifica. Il modello di elemento di modifica contiene in genere i controlli di input per l'utente per aggiornare i valori di un record esistente, nonché i pulsanti di comando per aggiornare il record e per annullare l'operazione di aggiornamento.
Per specificare il modello personalizzato, posizionare <EditItemTemplate> i tag tra i tag di apertura e chiusura del FormView controllo. È quindi possibile elencare il contenuto del modello tra i tag di apertura e chiusura <EditItemTemplate> . Usando un'espressione di associazione bidirezionale, è possibile associare un campo a un controllo di input. Ciò consente al controllo di visualizzare automaticamente il FormView valore del campo originale nel controllo di input associato in modalità di modifica. Quando un record viene aggiornato, il controllo estrae automaticamente il FormView valore del campo aggiornato dal controllo di input associato. Per creare pulsanti di comando che eseguono le operazioni di annullamento e aggiornamento predefinite, aggiungere un controllo pulsante di comando al modello con la relativa CommandName proprietà impostata su uno dei valori elencati nella tabella seguente.
