Roles that use Dynamics 365 Guides

There are several roles that are involved in setting up and using Dynamics 365 Guides.

  • Administrator - The person who sets up Dynamics 365 guides, and upgrades the solution. They also add users, assign roles, and access, and take care of the integration with other Dynamics 365 apps.

  • Author - The person who creates a guide in the PC app and the HoloLens app, by using pictures, videos, and holograms. Dynamics 365 Guides includes a 3D toolkit with basic holographic shapes like arrows, hands, or zones, so that authors can start creating valuable guides from day one. Authors can also convert 3D models and import them in to guides to use as holograms.

  • Operator - The technician who uses Dynamics 365 Guides on HoloLens to complete their job using holographic step-by-step instructions or Teams.

  • Manager - The person who can analyze the usage of guides across an organization.
