Teams Phone includes the functionality to use Teams for calling to and from the traditional PSTN. It requires some configuration before users can make and receive calls and use all the provided features.

Microsoft Calling Plans, Operator Connect, Direct Routing or Teams Phone Mobile PSTN connectivity must be configured before phone numbers can be assigned to users. Direct Routing configuration is covered in a later module. Emergency calling locations are required to meet legal requirements in many countries/regions and must also be configured before users can be assigned phone numbers.

You'll then review key Teams Phone configuration options with calling policies, dial plans, call park policies, caller ID policies, and inbound call blocking, as well as Audio Conferencing, which allows for adding PSTN phone numbers and inbound and outbound dialing for Teams meetings.

The goal of this module is to enable learners to configure and deploy Teams Phone for their organization, including setting up emergency calling addresses, managing phone numbers, understanding PSTN connectivity options, and configuring and assigning policies for calling and meeting capabilities.
