Control.OnLayout(LayoutEventArgs) Method

Definition

Raises the Layout event.

protected:
 virtual void OnLayout(System::Windows::Forms::LayoutEventArgs ^ levent);
protected virtual void OnLayout (System.Windows.Forms.LayoutEventArgs levent);
abstract member OnLayout : System.Windows.Forms.LayoutEventArgs -> unit
override this.OnLayout : System.Windows.Forms.LayoutEventArgs -> unit
Protected Overridable Sub OnLayout (levent As LayoutEventArgs)

Parameters

levent
LayoutEventArgs

A LayoutEventArgs that contains the event data.

Remarks

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Handling and Raising Events.

The OnLayout method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnLayout(LayoutEventArgs) in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnLayout(LayoutEventArgs) method so that registered delegates receive the event and for typical docking and anchoring functions to work. Derived classes should override this method to do any custom layout logic.
