Solution blueprint review

Completed

The solution blueprint review is conducted by the solution architect at Microsoft who is assigned to the project. This review is accomplished through a workshop, where details of the business processes and system requirements are described, for which the solution architect will provide recommendations and suggested actions for the most efficient implementation. Workshops are scheduled periodically during the implementation, which will help organizations to:

  • Ensure customer outcome.
  • Identify risks.
  • Drive communication early.
  • Ensure customer understanding.
  • Identify where Microsoft can help.

Cloud solution architecture blueprint

Multiple types of architectures shape the complete cloud solution architecture blueprint. Each architecture is compounded by different key elements that need to be reviewed during these workshops.

  • Process architecture - Scope management, business analysis, requirements and fit gap management, test management, and training
  • Application architecture - Microsoft, partner, and customer components
  • Data architecture - Entities, flows, migration/upgrade strategy, maintenance strategy, and sizing
  • Integration architecture - Integration catalog, interface design, middleware design, and operational design
  • Intelligence architecture - Analytical process, inquiry, alerting, and automation
  • Security architecture - Authentication, access control, network, and encryption
  • Continuous update architecture - Application Lifecycle management (ALM), environment strategy, regression test design, and organizational design
  • Platform architecture - Instance strategy, performance, business continuance, and deployment model
  • Timeline/Approach - Requirement management, test methodology, business participation model, change management/rollout plan, and scheduled sanity checks

When blueprint reviews happen

The following diagram shows a typical engagement model with the FastTrack team and the review implementation. When a project does not interact with an allocated FastTrack architect, we recommend that you consider these checkpoints as part of your planning between partner and customer.
