Connect FireWire to USB

Can my DV camera be connected via laptop's USB?
Already bought Firewire to USB cable, but device is not recognised.
Have downloaded Legacy drivers, installed, but 1394 drivers are not listed in Devices Manager.
Same on Win 7 and Win 10.

    Have you tried inserting to a different USB port?

    You need to Turn on the camera and set it to "VCR" or "PC Connect" mode.

    You have to download drivers and application from the support site of the manufacturer which must be compatabile with your OS.

    You may check the camera with another machine if possible.
