Microsoft Dynamics 365 Server installation

This section covers procedures to install Dynamics 365 Server on a computer that doesn’t already have Dynamics 365 Server installed.

Install Microsoft Dynamics 365 Server

  1. Verify that you have completed the necessary planning and that you have the required hardware and software components installed and running. More information: Planning your deployment of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (on-premises)

  2. Make sure that you have the appropriate permissions to run Dynamics 365 Server Setup.

  3. Run Dynamics 365 Server Setup.

  4. On a server that has SQL Server Reporting Services, run Microsoft Dynamics 365 Reporting Extensions Setup.

  5. If you want to configure Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (on-premises) for internet access, run the Set-CRMSettings ClaimsSettings and Set-CRMSettings IfdSettings Windows PowerShell commands. More information: Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (on-premises) PowerShell Reference

    Alternatively, start Deployment Manager and run the Configure Claims-Based Authentication Wizard and then the Internet-Facing Deployment Configuration Wizard.

  6. If one or more Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (on-premises) users will need email routing, configure server-side synchronization to enable tracking. More information: Integrate your email system with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (on-premises)
